Real-Time Audio Streamer

A browser-based audio streaming prototype built in four hours with WebSockets and ffmpeg.

  • Node.js
  • WebSockets
  • ffmpeg
  • React

Problem

Capture browser audio continuously and make it available to a backend without waiting for a complete recording upload.

Outcome

Shipped a working low-latency audio pipeline in four hours without AI assistance.

Project notes

I built this prototype to test a small real-time media pipeline. A Node.js server uses WebSockets and ffmpeg to process and stream audio to a React client.

The first working version took four hours.
